Our Small Class Size is More Effective

For a student, it can be catastrophic when month after month and year after year, he or she continues to fail academically.  Further, this individual may be disregarded and disrespected by his or her peer group, teachers, and family.  These young people with at least average or above-average intelligence frequently lack the skills, the methodology, or the support to achieve and this circumstance usually wreaks havoc with the child’s confidence and self-image.  At any age, it can permanently scar their desire to learn as their fear of failure frequently prevails.  Even some adults in their lives may not believe that the situation can be reversed.

At Vista Preparatory School, we are confident that we can transpose this lack of academic development.  We can demonstrate to these students through a variety of methods that they can succeed and we have had the experience in previous academic environments to substantiate this belief. Labels need not be permanent.

We can cite the following examples to list just a few of several stories:

  • The student, who withdrew from his local junior high school, and who is a doctor today.
  • The student, who was very quiet and reluctant to try, who is now the head of a middle school at a private school in New York City.
  • The students, who came to a crossroads later in life, selected the correct path, and built new and positive lifestyles.
  • The student, who at eleven years of age was referred to a vocational school, and who is now a junior at a traditional Liberal Arts College.
  • The student, who always loved animals, and who is now the coordinator of volunteers for a humane society for homeless animals.

In the right environment, with both encouraging faculty and staff and with individualized programs to give them solid academic foundations, our students can succeed to realize their dreams
