Our Individualized Instructional Strategies for Students with Learning Disabilites

One of our favorite educators

Given the confines of this website, it is very difficult to describe in detail, the educational approach that is implemented at Vista Preparatory School. That being said, we can address a few of the more important characteristics of our methodology. They revolve around preparation, individualized instruction, demonstration, reinforcement, and the integration of these skills into other classes. Review is ongoing.

First, from testing, interviews with the student and his/her parents, and observation in the classroom, we begin the process to identify and to understand the learning style of the student within our small environment. We, then, begin to plan lessons to accommodate this particular learning style as these profiles may differ from class to class. Through multilevel, multi-sensory, and sequenced procedures, we introduce the material to the student. Our teachers present specific information through a variety of formats and consistently evaluate the responses of each student to begin the first step of the learning cycle again.
